With this route we will visit the Xareta Valley, the cross-border region consisting of the towns of Zugarramurdi and Urdax, in Navarra and Ainhoa Sara and in Aquitaine.

We start from the village of Urdazubi-Urdax, located just 5 kilometers from the border France, which offers an historic small and beautiful center, a monastery, a museum, a mill and the caves of Urdax.

A little further south, we find Zugarramurdi, known as the town of witches because of the tragic history when 31 residents were accused of practicing witchcraft by the court of the Inquisition in 1610. Along with the big mansions, the most remarkable place is undoubtedly the caves and the Museum of Witches where we will give you time to visit.

From this point we will cross the border to the beautiful village of Ainhoa, built in the thirteenth century around St. James Way. Its main street is a wide avenue lined with impressive half-timbered houses of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries with facades adorned with beautiful stones.
